Andy Warhol (1928-1987)

Artist, filmmaker, and producer Andrew Warhola Jr., or simply Andy Warhol, was a founding father of the pop art movement. Frank Stella (1936–2024)

A giant of post-war abstract art, Frank Stella (1936–2024) investigated the formal and narrative possibilities of geometry and color and the boundaries between painting and objecthood. Stella was born in Malden, MA in 1936. He attended Phillips Academy Andover, where he studied painting under Patrick Morgan, and Princeton University, where he studied history and painting under Stephen Greene and Willliam Seitz. I’m a self confessed ocean and travel lover. About 9 years ago, I quit my corporate job in sales and marketing, I took the leap and chased a dream. I’ve now been on the tools (of the camera variety) since. I create both photo and video for brands in both travel and lifestyle spaces all over the world. But I’m also known to create for anyone with an interesting project too. From time to time I’ll even share some sponsored stuff here on the gram too. But I’m pretty picky with who I work with. In general, the rule for me is I gotta love the project or think others would really benefit from it if I’m going to share it here. I also run my own print/frame store @oceanfeelsco where people can have a piece of my art for their own space. So far, it’s been one of the most rewarding things I ever did. Knowing people from all over the world, enjoy my art enough to have it on their walls is just insane. I’m also looking to open a gallery in the future where people could come and visit. But more on that another day. I’m a father of 3 beautiful little girls and married to the girl of my dreams. We live in Sydney at the moment, but we love exploring new places and are in the process of changing a few things too. It’s been an absolute blast sharing my art here with you on Instagram and although social media is a wild place, it’s my hope that my work brings you a little peace. I also want to thank you for following me here. I can’t even start to believe this many choose to follow along! It’s truly humbling. Niki de Saint Phalle (1930-2002)

“I’m following a course that was chosen for me, following a pressing need to show that a woman can work on a monumental scale.” Niki de Saint Phalle “I accidentally stumbled across Niki de Saint Phalle’s exhibition in London, back in 1985. It may have been the commonality in name that drew me in, mixed with my interest in the arts, either way, her style and colourful artworks definitely ‘wowed’ me. Now, revisiting her work and life (online), I was saddened to learn that she passed away in 2002 (aged 72). l had no idea at the time, but this would have made her around 55 when I popped into that gallery. Amusing now, how (as a mere 21 year old then) I had wrongly presumed that the person behind these modernist and intriguing works was much younger.” (Nicky Jury)
