About Shona Nunan
Shona is currently living in Tuscany, Italy, with her partner, Michael Cartwright. She lives in the mountains near Lucca and Pietrasanta where she has access to great art foundries. In the last few years she has been engaged in studio work, commissions for collectors and project work. Shona studies the visual languages of the ancient cultures including Europe and Asia. These influences have seriously impacted her art as did her early connection to aboriginal art in her home country. Hence, her themes of guardians depicting the balance of ying and yang, conscious and unconscious, male and female; the Horse and Rider, representing the journey of life and its many stages of growth; the Women series representing fertility, the cycles of life, abundance; the Harvest series, representing the reaping of what has been sown, carrying the vessel of life’s gifts; the Warrior representing the strong, the brave and the humble, noble and self sacrificial, also the destroyer of the old. Her work is earthy and derived from nature where she looks for the archetypal language in all cultures to express our common humanness.

Michael Cartwright’s creativity is spontaneous and his works exudes an ethos of balance and freedom. Whether it is sculpture, painting, drawing or printmaking, his work alternates between delightful play to a more serious exploration of man, nature and beauty.
p.s. ... szombat déli órák a Place des Lices-en úgy, mint általában heti piackor mindig nagy a nyüzsgés... 2019. október 12-t írunk és a nyár íze még a levegőben, ragyogó napsütés. Séta, nézelődés, majd megkóstolom a truffle remeklést, csudafinom volt! ...
...már indultam a 26e Paradise Porsche rendezvény irányába, amikor megpillantottam a plakátot a Salle Jean Despas rácsos kapuján... mindig azt mondom, hogy egy plakát is elég ahhoz, ha igazán találó, hogy az érdeklődést felkeltse... ebben az épületben mindig különleges művészek alkotásaival találkozhatunk, így volt ez most is... Firenze hangulatát idézve, ahogy sétáltam a szobrok, festmények között... már a bemutató terem végén járok, amikor megpillantottam a két művészt... elragadó, két angyali lénynek tűntek a terem mélységében, akik már 40 éve együtt járják az alkotás mezejét...
