GIRAGLIA SAINT-TROPEZ 2023

Az 1953-ban alapított Rolex Giraglia a Földközi-tenger egyik legimádottabb regattája, amely versenytársai közötti bajtársiasságról híres. Az elmúlt évek zavarait követően a 2022-es kiadás visszatért a hagyományos formátumhoz: érkezési verseny Sanremóból, háromnapos szárazföldi versenyek Saint-Tropez mellett, majd a főszereplő offshore verseny Genovába a mesés Giraglia-sziklán keresztül. Az enyhe szél miatt a 241 tengeri mérföldes (446 km) pályát mintegy 35 tengeri mérfölddel csökkentették, hogy a 141 fős nemzetközi flotta többsége a levágási idő előtt célba érjen. A Ker 46-os Lisa R hendikep összesítésben győzött, míg a Magic Carpet Cubed harmadszor is megszerezte a sor kitüntetést a versenyen, miután lenyűgöző párbajt vívott egy másik 100 láb (30,48 m) maxi ARCA SGR-rel. A Rolex 1998 óta partnere ennek az eseménynek – amelyet az Italiano Yacht Club a Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez-vel együttműködésben szervez – a vitorlássport több évtizedes támogatásának részeként. Founded in 1953, the Rolex Giraglia is one of the Mediterranean’s most adored regattas, renowned for the camaraderie among its competitors. Following the disruptions of recent years, the 2022 edition returned to its traditional format: an arrival race from Sanremo, three days of inshore races off Saint-Tropez, followed by the headline offshore race to Genoa via the fabled Giraglia Rock. Light winds prompted the 241-nautical mile (446km) course to be reduced by some 35nm to help the majority of the 141-strong international fleet finish before the cut-off time. Ker 46 boat Lisa R was overall winner on handicap while Magic Carpet Cubed took line honours for a third time in the race after a fascinating duel with fellow 100-ft (30.48m) maxi ARCA SGR. Rolex has partnered this event – organized by the Yacht Club Italiano in collaboration with the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez – since 1998 as part of its decades-long support for yachting.

From Megève, our crossing of the Alps will take the famous Route des Grandes Alpes, and will include stops in Courmayeur and Serre Chevalier, to end, as has been the tradition since 2015, on the Place des Lices in Saint-Tropez, among bowlers, just a stone’s throw from the Port.

15 FRENCH & ITALIAN MOUNTAIN PASSES

Nearly fifteen large passes will have to be climbed to reach the final arrival in Saint-Tropez. Ascents will be omnipresent for 3 days, with the famous Col d’Iseran and its 2770m altitude as the culminating point. Without forgetting the Cormet de Roselend, the Galibier or the Izoard… (Forrás!)
